football for a housewife

Like any good housewife, I stayed in this Saturday evening with my hardworking husband to watch...football. You may think that I was coaxed into doing so, but you would be wrong. I grew up watching football every Sunday and Monday night--thanks to my steak and "cheeeesy" potato fed parents who hail from the dairy state; Wisconsin. My family consists of major, die hard Green Bay Packer fans, which of course like any other trait would be passed down to me, right?! Well it did.

I was born and bred in the good ol' southern state of Georgia. I was never an Atlanta Falcon fan, nor will I ever be one. Because I was born in Georgia I catch so much flack for being a "cheese head." Fortunately I do not mind. Born a Packer fan, die a Packer fan.

So this is why I was basically "forced" to stay at home on a Saturday night. Green Bay v. Atlanta... IN Atlanta?! Me giving into my hubby..."OK honey, I guess we can stay in and watch the game." THRILLED, I gladly turned it to FOX and proudly cheered on my Packers to a 48-21 win. The Falcon's new slogan (if you will) this season was to "Rise Up," brought to you by Samuel L. Jackson.  Unfortunately (for them) the dirty birds had a difficult time rising up to the occasion.

I may be a southern girl deep down, but I am no fair weather fan. I will always cheer for my Green Bay Packers. GO PACK GO!

Looking forward to the NFC Championship game next weekend. I guess I will just have to deal with another "boring" weekend in. ;-)
